TL;DR
Sr. Calibration Tech Lead (Aerospace Quality): Executing product and process surveillance across aerospace manufacturing cells with an accent on AS9102 first article inspections, audit execution, and real-time quality intervention. Focus on identifying nonconformances, exercising stop-work authority, analyzing quality data, and driving root-cause and corrective-action improvements.

Location: Fully onsite in Chandler, Arizona, United States, with a five-day workweek aligned to manufacturing operations. U.S. citizenship is required for employment due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

Salary: $28.13–$52.16 per hour; salary-exempt position.

What you will do

  • Execute proactive product surveillance audits across aerospace manufacturing programs and observe builds for compliance with inspection criteria, work instructions, documentation, and process requirements.
  • Stop or pause production when nonconformances are identified and collaborate with cell leadership, quality, engineering, and operations on resolution.
  • Conduct process audits covering PPE, hazardous-material controls, work instructions, calibration status, documentation, and traceability.
  • Support AS9102 First Article Inspection activities, parts inspection reviews, and workbook and build-record closeout.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions using 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D methods.
  • Analyze quality data with Excel, Pareto charts, Power BI, and ERP/SAP-type systems to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment, including aerospace manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection and parts inspection activities.
  • Ability to independently conduct product and process audits with minimal oversight.
  • Working knowledge of root-cause analysis, corrective actions, GD&T, inspection principles, measurement tools, and quality documentation.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP/SAP-type environments, with the ability to use Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to meet the stated employment eligibility requirement.

Nice to have

  • AS9100 audit experience or knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
  • Exposure to APQP tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.
  • Six Sigma training or certification.
  • ASQ certification or experience in high-reliability or regulated manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; equivalent manufacturing quality experience may substitute.
