Director of Collections (AI)

What you will do

• Develop and execute enterprise B2B collections strategies to improve cash flow, reduce past-due receivables, and optimize DSO.
• Lead, coach, and develop Collections Managers, Supervisors, and Analysts while building succession plans and accountability systems.
• Own portfolio performance through KPIs, dashboards, executive reporting, customer segmentation, payment-term governance, and escalation processes.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Credit, Treasury, Billing, Legal, Accounting, Product, and Engineering to resolve disputes and improve payment behavior.
• Drive automation, AI, workflow redesign, predictive analytics, digital collections, and payment technology initiatives.
• Manage complex collections matters, including credit risk, bankruptcies, external agencies, legal partners, audits, internal controls, and SOX compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in B2B Collections, Accounts Receivable, Finance Operations, or Working Capital Management.
• 5+ years of experience leading large collections organizations and developing high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated success improving DSO, reducing delinquency, and delivering measurable working capital improvements.
• Strong analytical, financial, operational problem-solving, cross-functional leadership, and executive communication skills.
• Experience working across Finance, Sales, Operations, Product, and Technology.

Nice to have

• MBA or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, freight brokerage, or SaaS.
• Experience with finance transformation, AI, automation, predictive analytics, digital collections, and reporting platforms.
• Experience with SOX-controlled environments and internal or external audit partnerships.
