Engineering Technologist II (Utilities)

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States. Some business units may require visits to field sites and/or plants; travel requirements are 5–15%.

What you will do

• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems in the assigned area of expertise.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities to achieve business goals.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related technical studies.
• Coordinate work activities, maintain accurate records, and communicate with internal stakeholders.
• Develop deeper technical expertise and work with increasing independence under general supervision.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of related work experience, or a bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology with no experience, or 4+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals from varied socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of basic project management principles.
