Mechanical Engineer Intern

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States. Part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.

Pay: $24.25–$30.00 per hour

Company

Develops critical products for protecting, controlling, monitoring, and analyzing the power grid.

What you will do

• Design, document, and 3D-print simple mechanical tools and fixtures.
• Design simple custom tabletop automation equipment.
• Update SolidWorks models and engineering drawings.
• Enter technical information into company databases, including MS Access, Lotus Notes, and SolidWorks.
• Follow mechanical development and quality assurance procedures.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, with one to two years of engineering education completed.
• At least one year of SolidWorks experience or equivalent CAD software experience.
• Strong problem-solving, writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications or equivalent tools.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results required.

Nice to have

• Experience filing engineering documentation.
• Finite element analysis experience.
