External Affairs & Policy Intern (Energy Policy): Researching energy policy, legislative, and regulatory developments and supporting briefing materials, strategic analysis, and stakeholder engagement for a clean energy transition with an accent on regulatory trends, electrification, affordability, reliability, and sustainability. Focus on analyzing emerging issues, synthesizing research into recommendations, and supporting cross-functional policy initiatives.

Location: Denver, Colorado; in-person commuting required under the hybrid work policy

Salary: $19.30–$24.50 per hour

hirify.global is an electricity and natural gas energy company serving customers across eight Western and Midwestern states and supporting the clean energy transition.

What you will do

  • Research energy policy, legislative, and regulatory developments affecting the utility industry.
  • Prepare research inputs, policy summaries, briefing materials, and executive presentations.
  • Analyze emerging issues related to clean energy, electrification, affordability, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Support policy, regulatory, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to company planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Current college or university student at the junior level or higher as of Fall 2027.
  • Enrollment in an accredited institution and pursuit of a degree in public policy, political science, economics, environmental studies, sustainability, public administration, or engineering.
  • Ability to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours per week, and commute to the Denver location in person.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, research, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in energy policy, environmental policy, utility regulation, sustainability, or public affairs.
  • Experience researching, analyzing data, and synthesizing information into concise recommendations.
