TL;DR
Assurance Manager - Financial Markets (Digital Assets/Lending/Capital Markets and/or Insurance) (Audit and Financial Markets): Leading external audit engagements and managing teams serving digital assets, lending, capital markets, and insurance clients with an accent on financial reporting, risk assessment, and audit quality. Focus on coordinating complex audits, supervising and developing audit professionals, addressing accounting matters, and managing client relationships and project profitability.

Location: Toronto, Canada; consistent onsite presence at a firm office and client sites is required. Travel of approximately 25% may be required.

Compensation: $79,500–$145,800 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Lead the audit of financial statements, disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Assess engagement risks, design audit procedures, and apply hirify.global’s audit methodology.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams, supervise audit seniors and supervisors, and review work quality and performance.
  • Maintain client relationships, address concerns, communicate accounting and auditing matters, and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Develop staff through coaching, training, career guidance, and ongoing feedback.
  • Monitor engagement schedules, profitability, professional standards, GAAP developments, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another discipline from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA or equivalent certification.
  • At least 5 years of recent assurance experience in public accounting with substantial external audit exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audit procedures, GAAP, CASs, IFRS, and other relevant auditing standards.
  • Experience leading audit engagements and teams, managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining audit quality.
  • Ability to maintain regular onsite presence during core business hours, work at client sites, and travel as required.
