Construction Inspector (Concrete, Structural Steel Façade, Masonry)

Location: Onsite in the Bronx, New York

Pay: $65–$72 per hour, depending on experience

Construction management and consulting services are provided across the full construction life cycle, including inspection, resident engineering, program management, owners representation, preconstruction consulting, and document control.

What you will do

• Perform daily inspections of concrete, structural steel façade, masonry, and exterior-envelope construction.
• Inspect formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, concrete placement, curing, CMU, brick, mortar, flashing, and related façade components.
• Verify materials and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate concrete testing and review field testing activities.
• Identify deficiencies, document non-conforming work, and prepare daily reports, photographs, and field records.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, construction management staff, testing agencies, and other inspectors; assist with punch-list and corrective work.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite in the Bronx
• 7–10 years of construction inspection experience involving concrete, masonry, structural, or façade work preferred.
• Strong knowledge of concrete placement, reinforcing steel, masonry construction, and building-envelope systems.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with large commercial, institutional, government, or public-sector projects preferred; NYC public-agency experience is a plus.
• Strong field documentation and communication skills.
