Civil Graduate - Land Development

Location: San Antonio, TX, United States; Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Support the design and preparation of commercial, residential, and site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, project documentation, and engineering materials using tools such as Microsoft Office.
• Analyze design alternatives, site constraints, client objectives, permitting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with Capital Improvement Plans, bond applications, feasibility studies, and engineering reports such as ACRs, re-rates, and EPPs.
• Review development plans, plats, and construction drawings, and support construction oversight through site visits, pay application reviews, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, multidisciplinary teams, engineering technicians, and the District Engineer, including support for Board meeting materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of the start date.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Flexibility, reliability, and dependability when priorities and deadlines change.
• Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Internship experience with a civil design firm.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
