TL;DR
Senior Structural Engineer (Revit/Structural Design): Designing structural systems for diverse building types from schematic design through construction administration with an accent on concrete, masonry, steel, wood, gravity, and lateral systems. Focus on preparing engineering calculations and construction documents, coordinating multidisciplinary designs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits.
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

What you will do
- Develop structural designs from concept through construction completion for a range of building types.
- Prepare engineering calculations, structural system layouts, reports, and design narratives.
- Produce construction documents using Revit and write or review specifications.
- Coordinate structural requirements with architecture and other engineering disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and conduct site visits when needed.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients throughout the integrated design process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years of building structural engineering experience, including concrete, masonry, steel, and wood design, as well as gravity and lateral systems.
- Working knowledge of structural software including ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, and Enercalc.
- Understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
- Strong problem-solving, creative, attention-to-detail, written, and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural/Structural Engineering.
- Experience or interest in sustainable building design.
- Experience with BIM and Autodesk Revit workflows.
- Licensed Professional Engineer certification.
