Director, Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Build, grow, and retain an engineering organization capable of delivering quality software at scale.
• Lead iterative adoption of AI-assisted development practices, shared standards, tooling, quality gates, and human review.
• Manage complex programs across multiple teams and solution families, maintaining dependencies, critical paths, and launch delivery dates.
• Establish reliability ownership, escalation paths, on-call practices, and incident postmortems.
• Own cloud, vendor, and contractor cost accountability in partnership with Finance.
• Lead reorganizations, outsourced workforce transitions, and acquisitions while maintaining delivery momentum.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including management of engineering teams of 30 or more in a growing SaaS company.
• At least 2 years of management experience through engineering managers and leads.
• Hands-on experience running evidence-based trials of AI-assisted development and helping teams provide structured context to AI systems.
• Experience managing complex cross-team programs with interdependent workstreams and fixed launch deadlines.
• Experience with site reliability practices, FinOps principles, agile delivery, software architecture, programming languages, data structures, and databases.
• Must be based in Poland for the remote role.
