Staff Data Scientist (Claims Fraud/Generative AI)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across Claims Fraud, shaping risk decisioning and fraud detection with Product and Engineering.
• Design, build, and iterate on production machine learning and Generative AI/LLM systems for claims validation and automation.
• Connect models, data, workflows, and infrastructure to improve scalability and reduce time to production.
• Advocate for monitoring, feedback loops, quality assurance, and platform investments supporting end-to-end claims automation.
• Set high standards for statistical rigour, experimentation, measurement, and communication of uncertainty.
• Influence technical direction and challenge proposals to ensure robust, sustainable solutions.

Requirements

• Significant commercial experience delivering end-to-end machine learning solutions from problem framing through production deployment and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping Generative AI systems in production, including evaluation, safety, quality, and workflow integration.
• Strong statistical and modelling foundation, with experience in risk-based decisioning under uncertainty, such as fraud, credit, insurance, or other regulated domains.
• Experience influencing technical direction across Data Science and Engineering, including scalable model and service integration.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including constructive challenge of Product and Engineering proposals.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, connect systems-level concerns, and drive measurable automation and customer outcomes.
