Principal Data Scientist (Generative AI)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for data science across Claims Fraud and shape risk decisioning and fraud detection with Product and Engineering.
• Design, build, and iterate on production machine learning and Generative AI/LLM systems for claims validation and automation.
• Apply system-level thinking to models, data, workflows, and architecture to scale decisioning and reduce time to production.
• Define platform and tooling investments in monitoring, feedback loops, and quality assurance for end-to-end claims automation.
• Influence technical direction and advocate for robust, scalable solutions aligned with the long-term vision for automated claims handling.
• Improve statistical experimentation, measurement, and communication of Claims performance and uncertainty to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Significant commercial experience delivering end-to-end machine learning solutions from problem framing and experimentation through production deployment and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping Generative AI systems in production, including evaluation, safety and quality considerations, and workflow integration.
• Strong statistical and modelling foundations, with experience in risk-based decisioning under uncertainty, such as fraud, credit, insurance, or other regulated domains.
• Ability to influence technical direction across Data Science and Engineering, including scalable model and service integration patterns.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions and communicate trade-offs constructively.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and change while bringing structure to complex problem spaces.

• 30-minute initial call with the Talent Team.
• 60-minute Past Experience interview with the Hiring Manager.
• 90-minute Systems Design and Technical interview with members of the team, followed by a 60-minute Culture interview.
