Senior Functional Analyst (Agile/SAFe)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and cross-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, business users, IT teams, leadership, systems engineers, product owners, and contractors.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, defects, and requirements traceability in JIRA and other ALM processes.
• Facilitate user interviews, requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, Scrum activities, and Sprint delivery.
• Track project risks, issues, dependencies, configuration items, execution status, and Agile product metrics using SAFe practices.
• Serve as a product functional SME, support development teams, mentor junior analysts, and deliver project documentation to clients.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Ten years of professional experience; a master's degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA, advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects and independent research on complex questions.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Experience with a federal health agency, healthcare billing and claims processing applications.
