DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations Transfer Portal - FBS Field Technician

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana, United States. Workplace: On-site at the manufacturing facility with travel to customer job sites.

What you will do

• Review project scope, site conditions, installation requirements, drawings, sequencing, logistics, and equipment needs before delivery.
• Prepare installation packets and checklists, facilitate pre-construction meetings, document action items, and coordinate customer and contractor readiness.
• Travel to customer sites to support Factory-Built Substation installations, inspect equipment, explain drawings and procedures, answer technical questions, and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Identify damaged equipment, missing materials, incorrect components, fabrication discrepancies, and installation conflicts, coordinating solutions with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management.
• Complete field reports and maintain installation records, photos, videos, field issues, lessons learned, and corrective actions.
• Analyze recurring field issues, lead internal review meetings, improve installation documentation, and deliver lessons-learned training and presentations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of experience with DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations and demonstrated knowledge of DTPS operations, processes, and organizational structure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate across departments and organizational levels.
• Ability to work onsite in Alexandria, Louisiana and travel to customer installation sites.
