Senior Functional Analyst (JIRA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Capture, analyze, validate, and manage business, functional, technical, and cross-functional requirements.
• Document requirements, epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and project specifications in JIRA.
• Facilitate user interviews, requirements sessions, backlog refinement, and Agile Scrum activities.
• Coordinate with customers, product owners, business stakeholders, systems engineers, development teams, and contractors.
• Manage requirements traceability, integration validation, change requests, configuration management, risks, issues, and impediments.
• Track and report program and product execution metrics across the SAFe product development lifecycle; mentor junior analysts and serve as a functional SME.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, research, customer service, and attention-to-detail skills, with experience on large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and with the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Experience with a federal health agency, healthcare billing and claims processing applications, or related Veterans Affairs work.
