Senior Researcher (Information Architecture)

Location: Remote within the United States; the remote program is described as nationwide.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan, conduct, analyze, synthesize, and communicate user research based on program goals and team needs.
• Contribute to long-term research strategy, prioritize research projects, and lead cross-functional research efforts.
• Build relationships with government stakeholders, program management, researchers, and product teams.
• Oversee research scope, communicate findings and recommendations, and identify and mitigate delivery risks.
• Uphold and interpret VA.gov information architecture and design component standards.
• Evaluate navigation, content hierarchy, and IA implementation; document structural issues and contribute to governance improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• Prior experience mentoring junior-level team members.
• Extensive experience with research principles, methodologies, and relevant technologies.
• Strong understanding of adjacent disciplines and how research affects product, program, and business goals.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and work with minimal oversight while meeting scope, schedule, and delivery expectations.
