TL;DR
Electronic Assembler (Electronics): Assembling, soldering, modifying, and repairing PCB components and subassemblies for mission-critical aerospace and defense products with an accent on IPC workmanship standards, fine-pitch components, and microscope soldering. Focus on identifying soldering anomalies, interpreting schematics and engineering drawings, and maintaining ESD and certification requirements.

Location: Hollister, California, United States. This onsite role requires US citizenship or eligibility to obtain the necessary US government export authorizations.

Salary: $16.92–$31.44 per hour, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

  • Perform production assembly operations on electronic components, PCB assemblies, subassemblies, and related units.
  • Hand-load PCB assemblies using schematics, drawings, visual aids, and assembly instructions.
  • Solder lead and lead-free components, including fine-pitch parts and components soldered under a microscope.
  • Modify, rework, reassemble, and repair units while identifying component values and soldering anomalies.
  • Follow IPC workmanship, ESD prevention, product handling, and quality standards.
  • Attend offsite training when required to maintain certifications.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required due to US Government contractual and export-control requirements; ongoing employment depends on obtaining required authorizations where applicable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ESD prevention and electronic product handling.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and visual aids.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, flexibility, communication skills, and ability to complete assigned tasks independently.
  • 3–5 years of J-STD soldering experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Nice to have

  • IPC-J-STD certification.
  • IPC-A-610 certification or experience applying electronic assembly acceptability criteria.
  • Experience soldering fine-pitch components under a microscope.
