TL;DR

What you will do

  • Fabricate, crimp, solder, route, and shield complex custom cable assemblies and wiring harnesses.
  • Hand-assemble, repair, rework, and modify SMT and through-hole components on custom PCB assemblies.
  • Apply and inspect conformal coatings and potting compounds for flight hardware.
  • Perform continuity checks, hi-pot testing, resistance measurements, and visual inspections using specialized equipment.
  • Maintain build records, travelers, ESD logbooks, and redline schematics in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Manage project inventory and coordinate with project managers, scientists, engineers, and technical staff.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent vocational training, plus 3+ years of hands-on electronics assembly experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • High proficiency in fine-pitch micro-soldering, wire harness fabrication, and chemical handling for conformal coating and potting.
  • NASA or industry spaceflight experience and detailed knowledge of Altium or equivalent electrical design software.
  • Ability to read, evaluate, and review electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to pass a NASA background check; knowledge of ESD control procedures and Class 10k / ISO 7 cleanroom protocols.

Nice to have

  • NASA workmanship certifications, including IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or NASA-STD-8739 series.
  • Experience working onsite at a NASA facility or in an aerospace contractor environment.
  • Knowledge of NASA electrical design standards, EEE parts, quality management systems, and inspection support.
  • Experience assigning work and managing personnel and tasks.
  • Customer relationship management experience.
