Director, Production Technology (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY, based at the Manhattan headquarters; currently two to five designated in-office days per week.

Salary: $103,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, integration, modernization, and operational effectiveness of production and post-production technology ecosystems.
• Design scalable end-to-end media workflows, including studio, virtual, live, field, and post-production processes.
• Manage shared storage, editing software, remote editing solutions, collaboration platforms, file transfer, and cloud-based media workflows including Frame.io, Signiant, and LucidLink.
• Shape strategies for media asset management, archiving, distribution, and automated quality-control pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging production technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and assess their creative value, workflow impact, cost, security, and organizational readiness.
• Lead vendor relationships, capital budget planning, technical standards, infrastructure upgrades, and complex cross-functional initiatives without direct reporting authority.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in production or post-production technology, media engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with complex media workflows, production and post-production systems, asset management, delivery pipelines, tracking tools, and shared edit storage.
• Experience owning technology projects from discovery through implementation, documentation, and handoff.
• Ability to translate creative and business requirements into technical workflows and train technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience evaluating vendors, managing capital budgets, prioritizing technology investments, and shaping technology roadmaps.
• Ability to work in the New York headquarters hybrid model, with two to five designated in-office days per week depending on role and employee group.

Nice to have

• Experience with virtual production, studio technology, formal procedures, and SOPs.
• Experience with cloud-based media workflows, production collaboration platforms, and modern media infrastructure.
• Experience supporting mission-driven, creative, media, entertainment, or content organizations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in film, television, broadcasting, communications, media, or a related field.
