Procurement Lead and Commodity Manager (Semiconductor and Mechatronics Components)

Location: Portland, Oregon, US. Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the US at the time of application. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $104,000–$133,000 USD per year, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Manage strategic suppliers and serve as the primary contact for supply chain issues across semiconductor and mechatronics commodities.
• Lead component and supplier selection for new products, including supplier qualification and development.
• Establish business models, maintain contractual requirements, negotiate favorable terms, and build supplier relationships.
• Develop and execute commodity strategies based on market conditions, industry trends, suppliers, processes, cost drivers, and performance goals.
• Drive cost reduction, supplier quality, material availability, inventory management, technology leadership, and long-term supply security.
• Advise management and purchasing teams on strategy, trends, risks, and cross-functional implementation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, Logistics, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferred 5–7 years of relevant experience in procurement, commodity management, purchasing, supply, contracting, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, quality, or account management.
• Experience with contract negotiations, supplier selection and management, technical commodities, and best practices.
• Strong organizational, planning, project leadership, prioritization, resource allocation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work extended hours when required.
• Fluent English and permanent US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Daimler Truck experience.
• Experience in the trucking, automotive, semiconductor, or mechatronics industries.
