TL;DR

Focus on translating complex data into scientific dialogue, generating actionable territory insights, supporting clinical studies, and coordinating cross-functional Medical Affairs activities.

Location: Maryland/DC/Virginia territory, United States; field-based role with up to 70% travel within the territory and for internal meetings and congresses.

Salary: $117,000–$201,250 base pay per year

What you will do

  • Develop and execute a territory scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and approved medical assets.
  • Build professional relationships with healthcare professionals, investigators, academic and community opinion leaders, and key opinion leaders.
  • Conduct two-way, non-promotional scientific exchange and deliver clinical data tailored to healthcare professional needs.
  • Collect, synthesize, and submit actionable clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory insights.
  • Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies while connecting investigators with internal research and grant processes.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, Clinical Operations, global teams, field partners, and other defined internal stakeholders in a compliant matrix environment.

Requirements

  • Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
  • Postgraduate experience for doctoral-level candidates, preferably with therapeutic-area clinical experience.
  • Scientific and/or therapeutic expertise, research or healthcare-system knowledge, and clinical expertise.
  • Data gathering and analysis, problem solving, interpersonal influence, strategic thinking, competitive landscape analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to support the Maryland/DC/Virginia territory with up to 70% travel.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required.

Nice to have

  • At least 2 years of relevant or therapeutic-area experience, preferably in an MSL role.
  • Residency or fellowship experience.
  • Board certification for clinical degrees.
  • Experience exploring and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
