Automotive Lead Technician

Location: 005991 Greenville, United States; onsite retail service role

Pay range: $22.90–$43.51 per hour under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, fuel and ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, computer, and drivability systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specifications.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Assist with and train other technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Maintain current automotive technology knowledge through paid formal training.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Greenville and maintain a valid automobile driver's license; must be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general automotive systems, and tires.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Must complete Form I-9 employment verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• Experience with electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, automatic or manual transmissions, and automotive heating and air conditioning.
• A.S.E. certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, preferably brakes and steering and suspension.
