NewsNation - Segment Producer - NNL Weekend

Location: Onsite at the network's offices in New York, NY

Salary: $66,300–$80,000 per year, depending on experience

NewsNation produces national television news programming covering political, domestic, and international topics.

What you will do

• Assist with breaking news coverage in the control room.
• Pitch story and segment ideas for the weekend NNL 1–4p program.
• Research topics and select video, archival, and other elements to support stories.
• Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for live segments, interviews, and packages.
• Collaborate with Executive, Senior, and Line Producers to prepare accurate and compelling newscasts.
• Mentor staff members and communicate story developments to production leadership.

Requirements

• Experience producing for a national news program or newscasts in a top-10 market.
• Experience covering politics and government, with strong news judgment.
• Proficiency with ENPS.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Strong written and oral communication, decision-making, creative thinking, and multitasking skills.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and ability to meet deadlines and adapt to change.
