Registered Nurse, RN - Medical Surgical Float Pool

Location: Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, Massachusetts; in-person role across the Main and Saints campuses. Night shift is 7 PM–7 AM, with weekend and holiday rotation required and two weekend shifts per month.

Salary: $37.50–$68.47 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families across medical-surgical and mixed-acuity units.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Apply nursing judgment, evidence-based practice, and research to changing patient needs.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and coordinate discharge plans and referrals.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate appropriately, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Support onboarding and professional growth through precepting, staff development, committees, and shared governance.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience requirements depend on the applicable career level: Level I through Level IV, from less than 12 months to 8 or more years of RN experience.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of the nursing process are required.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals.
