Process Engineer (Entry Level) (Life Sciences)

What you will do

• Support the design of manufacturing facilities, process equipment, facility infrastructure, and critical utility systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, including material and energy balances, heat transfer, pressure drops, process optimization, and basic sizing.
• Document process design scope and coordinate deliverables with architects, engineers, designers, and internal and external project members.
• Develop block and process flow diagrams, equipment lists, equipment arrangements, equipment datasheets, utility summaries, and P&IDs.
• Support studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, field installation, and site observations.
• Manage work across concurrent projects and solve complex problems under the direction of a mentor or supervisor.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or bioprocess engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in a related manufacturing or design firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of chemistry or biochemistry, process modeling, material and energy balances, fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, and heat transfer.
• Ability to perform discipline design calculations under the supervision of an engineer and participate in cross-discipline project coordination.
• Fundamentals of Engineering exam registration or completion is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with 2D/3D design platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
• Programming proficiency.
