General Ledger Accountant (UK Tax & VAT)

What you will do

• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, financial reporting, and account analysis.
• Maintain the fixed assets database and manage intercompany recharges.
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns while monitoring VAT transactions.
• Support internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Work with departments, vendors, partners, and stakeholders while supporting the Financial Accounting Manager.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics, or relevant experience in a financial administrator or assistant role.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and a problem-solving mindset.
• Highly proficient in Excel and experienced with accounting software and integrating manual and electronic data sources.
• Good working knowledge of UK tax, auditing, and commercial regulatory rules.
• Flexibility, resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
