Senior Finance Analyst - Expenses

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom; hybrid

What you will do

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, payroll entries, and cost allocations.
• Produce financial reports and explain results in stakeholder meetings.
• Manage intercompany invoices, fund recharges, journals, reconciliations, and payments.
• Prepare VAT packs and support finance and tax queries for European entities, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Ireland.
• Complete balance-sheet reconciliations, resolve aged items, and maintain clear audit trails.
• Improve finance processes, controls, headcount records, and cost-centre data.

Requirements

• AAT qualification or progress towards a recognised accounting qualification.
• Good understanding of accounting processes and principles.
• Strong Excel skills, including lookup and advanced functions.
• Experience contributing to month-end activity and meeting financial deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders, colleagues, and auditors.
• Collaborative approach, strong attention to detail, and resilience.

Nice to have

• Experience with accounting systems or in financial services.
