Patient Access Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Ardent - UT Health Pittsburg in Pittsburg, Texas; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients, including demographic and insurance data collection.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, complete medical necessity checks, and support regulatory compliance.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit information, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and documentation.
• Conduct account audits, correct errors, maintain reporting data, and support quality standards across departments and facilities.
• Provide compassionate customer service, handle telephone switchboard duties, and meet assigned point-of-service goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburg, Texas.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
