Process Engineer Summer 2027 Intern (Thin Films)

Semiconductor equipment technology organization with a thin-films development team focused on research and development.

What you will do

• Design and conduct process design-of-experiments studies for process optimization.
• Analyze and assimilate tool signal data and metrology results.
• Support plasma diagnostics and integrate diagnostic signals with tool and metrology data.
• Construct reduced-order models of chamber hardware and validate them using tool signal data.
• Simulate electromagnetic fields and plasmas with commercial software.
• Work in the laboratory on sample preparation and data collection under supervision.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Graduate-level study in an M.S. or Ph.D. program is preferred; strong rising Junior or Senior students and Bachelor’s-level students will be considered.
• Knowledge of design of experiments, statistical methods, computer-aided design, and computational plasma or fluid simulation tools.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for technology and interest in a research and development laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with thin films or cleanroom environments.
• Coding experience and application of machine learning or AI techniques.
