Senior Software Test Engineer (Python/Appium)

Location: Hybrid, based out of the San Francisco office, United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not being considered.

Salary: $172,550–$203,000 per year for Region 1, San Francisco, CA.

What you will do

• Develop test strategies and plans for end-to-end features across mobile applications, backend services, and data or algorithmic solutions.
• Execute manual, automated, regression, integration, exploratory, performance, and big-data monitoring tests across iOS and Android experiences.
• Validate data flows from the ring and backend services into user-facing health insights, including sensor-driven and algorithmic features.
• Build, maintain, and improve mobile and API automation frameworks using tools such as Pytest and Appium.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and maintain reliable regression coverage for ring and app experiences.
• Report defects, debug complex issues with cross-functional teams, maintain test documentation, and mentor junior test team members.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and executing automated tests for complex applications.
• Experience testing multi-component systems combining embedded software, mobile applications, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and tooling.
• Hands-on experience with Pytest, Appium, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with health, wellness, wearable, hardware-in-the-loop, sensor-driven, or time-series applications.
• Experience testing embedded firmware and Bluetooth-enabled devices, including connectivity, syncing, and reliability.
• Experience analyzing wireless communication logs and traces.
• Experience with LLMs and AI-driven development or testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
