Senior Software QA Engineer (Life Sciences)

Location: On-site in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, United States; work in office and laboratory/instrument environments is required, with occasional travel for collaboration, validation, or customer engagement.

Salary: $105,000–$135,000 annually, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Own QA strategy, test architecture, coverage models, and quality standards for software products.
• Drive testing across Agile sprints and full product release cycles.
• Establish testing standards, documentation practices, CI/CD quality gates, and Jira defect lifecycle processes.
• Participate in requirements reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint grooming for HCS.ai and IN Carta workflows.
• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers through reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Improve QA processes and collaborate with software engineers, product owners, application scientists, and hardware teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, including ownership of test strategy and automation architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent end-to-end automation frameworks.
• Scripting experience in TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, build health monitoring, and pipeline reliability.
• Advanced Jira experience covering defect management, test planning, sprint reporting, and cross-team quality visibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with HCS.ai, IN Carta, or similar high-content imaging and analysis platforms.
• Experience testing lab instrument systems, imaging platforms, automated liquid handlers, or robotic workflows.
• Professional use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
