Senior Functional Analyst (JIRA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, documentation, validation, and change control of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Manage epics, sub-epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, requirements, testing, defects, and traceability in Jira.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate requirements and backlog refinement sessions, and develop business process models and formal specifications.
• Coordinate with customers, product and business owners, systems engineers, developers, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Track project risks, issues, impediments, change requests, configuration artifacts, execution metrics, and product status across the Agile lifecycle.
• Serve as a product functional subject matter expert and mentor junior analysts while supporting Sprint delivery.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Ten years of professional experience; a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong background in software development, Agile methodologies, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• Expertise with Jira and advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, plus strong analytical, research, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to customers, management, and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Independence Program, VA SQA testing, or a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, claims processing applications, or Agile product environments.
