Senior Functional Analyst

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 annually

What you will do

• Lead the capture, analysis, validation, and management of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Collaborate with business users, product owners, IT teams, leadership, systems engineers, customers, and contractors to document requirements and assess solution impacts.
• Use JIRA as an ALM tool to manage requirements, epics, user stories, backlogs, testing, defects, traceability, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate user interviews, backlog refinement, Agile requirements sessions, process modeling, and formal specification development.
• Track project risks, issues, metrics, change requests, configuration management, and requirements change control across the Agile product lifecycle.
• Serve as a product functional SME, mentor junior analysts, and support Scrum teams in removing impediments and clarifying requirements.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required, with additional experience potentially substituting for education.
• Strong background in software development and Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, research, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile environment and knowledge of the VA Veterans Independence Program.
• VA SQA testing experience or experience with a federal health agency such as VA, DHA, or HHS.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Healthcare billing and claims processing application knowledge.
