Senior Functional Analyst (JIRA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Salary: $78,167–$103,855 per year

What you will do

• Lead business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements gathering for software development teams.
• Conduct user interviews, facilitate workshops, model business processes, and create formal specifications.
• Manage epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlogs, testing, defects, and traceability in JIRA.
• Support Agile and SAFe product delivery through backlog refinement, sprint requirements, metrics, and impediment removal.
• Coordinate with systems engineers, customers, product owners, stakeholders, and contractors to assess impacts and validate integrations.
• Manage change control, risks, issues, configuration items, project documentation, and requirements across multiple projects.

Requirements

• 10 years of professional experience; a master's degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.
• Strong software development background and experience with Agile, Scrum, and SAFe methodologies.
• Expertise with JIRA and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, research, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
• Experience with large Agile software development or data integration projects.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Veterans Affairs, federal health agency, VA SQA testing, or Veterans Independence Program experience.
• Healthcare billing and claims processing application knowledge.
• Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
