Business Analyst (Federal Grants & eRA Systems)

Location: US-Remote

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Analyze and document as-is and to-be business processes across the federal grant lifecycle, from pre-award through audit and closeout.
• Support implementations, migrations, deployments, and enhancements for eRA Commons, GrantSolutions, and related enterprise systems.
• Define user roles, use cases, technical requirements, process maps, gap analyses, trade-off analyses, and recommendations.
• Identify regulatory gaps, operational bottlenecks, workflow automation opportunities, and improvements to future-state grant processes.
• Coordinate requirements clarification and testing activities, including UAT and disaster recovery exercises.
• Communicate technical and end-user issues with project teams, customers, and business points of contact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of business analysis experience, or equivalent experience.
• Direct experience supporting eRA or GrantSolutions implementations, migrations, or modernizations in a federal agency environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal grant policies, FOAs/NOFOs, peer review, application intake, award obligation, financial drawdown, and post-award monitoring.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid-remote environment.
• Ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Pattern recognition experience supporting incident and problem management.
• Experience identifying end-user friction points and proposing practical solutions.
