Senior Credit Underwriter (Fintech)

What you will do

• Evaluate international, multi-industry commercial credit applicants and assess complex financial documents, industry and country risks, and payment behavior.
• Use internal and external data to assess creditworthiness and support timely credit decisions.
• Develop credit structures and decision recommendations within the stated risk appetite.
• Exercise credit approval authority and occasionally interact directly with applicants.
• Communicate credit issues to senior management and collaborate with risk and business teams.
• Support innovation and continuous improvements in underwriting efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field, or formal financial analysis and credit assessment training.
• Foundational knowledge of commercial business credit, loan documentation, bankruptcy, and the regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to formulate and communicate objective views based on professional analysis.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
• Experience with Moody’s CreditLens.
• Experience with fraud detection practices for online lending.
• Experience with international lending.
