Business Analyst (Interoperability)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; work is primarily performed in an office environment.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year, with the final offer depending on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze and document mission-support business processes, workflows, system interactions, and data models.
• Define business, functional, and non-functional requirements for interconnected systems, databases, data integration, and interoperability.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications while coordinating with stakeholders, developers, QA teams, project managers, and compliance teams.
• Support Agile delivery through backlog grooming, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint activities, and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, document decisions, track action items, and maintain BRDs, use cases, process flows, and technical guides.
• Support User Acceptance Testing by defining scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating implemented solutions against business requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of business analysis experience focused on business systems, workflows, requirements, interoperability, and data exchange.
• At least 3 years of experience in an Agile environment such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Hands-on experience with the System Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Public Trust level.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, and stakeholder facilitation skills.

Nice to have

• SQL and database query experience for healthcare data analysis.
• Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
