What you will do

• Assess clients’ employment-related strengths, needs, abilities, skills, and barriers.
• Develop individualized Employment Action Plans and provide vocational advice, job-search training, skills development, and work preparation.
• Maintain regular face-to-face contact with clients and support access to community resources and referrals.
• Build relationships with community stakeholders and employers to generate referrals and connect clients with suitable opportunities.
• Conduct employer site visits, coordinate on-the-job training, and arrange accommodations and employment supports.
• Help clients and employers resolve issues affecting employment retention while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Requirements

• Experience conducting and interpreting client assessments, coaching and mentoring clients, and supporting people with complex employment barriers.
• Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, job-search techniques, career development, and unemployment-related issues.
• Strong documentation, report writing, interviewing, assessment, resume writing, vocational counseling, goal-setting, and planning skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality and professional codes of conduct.
• Ability to work outside regular business hours, including shifts and evenings when required.
• Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office; employment is conditional on obtaining a criminal record check.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counseling, education, or human resources management.
• Experience connecting clients with employers based on mutual needs and benefits.
• Certified Career Development Practitioner certification.
• Bilingual English and French language skills.
