Employment Consultant (Fixed Term until March 2027)

Location: In office in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Travel is not expected.

Salary: $53,820 per year.

What you will do

• Manage an assigned caseload of clients facing multiple barriers to employment.
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized Employment Action Plans.
• Provide vocational advice, job-search training, skills development, work preparation, and employment-retention support.
• Build relationships with community stakeholders and coordinate client referrals.
• Visit employers, resolve workplace issues, and arrange accommodations and supports.
• Coordinate required training, including on-the-job training, while protecting client privacy.

Requirements

• Experience conducting and interpreting client assessments and coaching or mentoring clients with complex barriers.
• Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, job-search techniques, and career development.
• Strong documentation, report writing, interviewing, vocational counselling, resume writing, and individualized planning skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality and professional codes of conduct.
• Ability to work shifts and evenings when required, with strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office.
• Employment is conditional on obtaining a criminal record check.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, counselling, education, human resources, or vocational rehabilitation.
• Experience connecting clients with employers based on mutual needs and benefits.
• Certified Career Development Practitioner certification.
• Bilingual English and French communication skills.
