Team Lead, Academic and Career Advising

Location: hirify.global Okanagan Campus, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CAD 7,727.33–11,112.00 per month

What you will do

• Lead a team of 3–4 advisors and serve as the first point of contact for complex student cases.
• Deliver academic and career advising, including course selection, degree progression, career planning, job-search strategies, and work-integrated learning guidance.
• Interpret and apply university policies related to academic concessions, transfer credits, graduation eligibility, withdrawals, and progression.
• Evaluate advising services, technologies, programs, and student outcomes, then recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement student success, transition, retention, orientation, recruitment, and engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with faculty leaders, campus partners, committees, communications teams, and community organizations.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Four to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to support a diverse student population with calm, courteous, and effective service.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and respecting diverse perspectives.
• Ability to lead within a team environment and manage varied, high-responsibility work.

Nice to have

• Experience working with domestic, international, Indigenous, and disabled student populations.
• Experience leading or managing professional staff.
• Experience using technology to improve student experience and advising efficiency.
• Experience developing faculty-specific programs, curriculum improvements, or experiential learning initiatives.
