Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Provide academic and career advising to undergraduate and graduate students across hirify.global Okanagan faculties.
• Help students define academic, personal, and professional goals and select suitable courses and programs.
• Advise on career readiness, work-integrated learning, job search strategies, labour market information, and career planning.
• Interpret university policies and manage academic progression issues, concessions, transfer credits, withdrawals, degree requirements, and graduation eligibility.
• Support students in crisis, facilitate resolution of student-faculty disputes, and refer students to appropriate campus services.
• Develop retention, transition, orientation, recruitment, advising, and student engagement initiatives and events.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Four to five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and work independently with initiative.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively with diverse student populations and respect diverse perspectives.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, including continual development of related awareness, knowledge, and skills.
• Ability to use technologies that improve the student experience and advising efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting domestic, international, Indigenous, and students with disabilities.
• Experience with faculty-specific advising, curriculum redesign, experiential learning, or practicum opportunities.
• Ability to lead within a team, train colleagues, and supervise student staff or volunteers.
• Experience presenting at conferences and workshops and developing advising best practices.
