Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support scalable data engineering solutions primarily on Azure Databricks.
• Develop reusable frameworks, delivery patterns, data products, pipelines, and Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion-layer models.
• Build data structures and models supporting Power BI, AI/ML, GenAI, and self-service analytics.
• Modernize legacy pipelines while optimizing batch and streaming workloads, compute usage, pre-aggregation, and performance.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, code review, release management, lineage, metadata, data contracts, and policy-driven access.
• Partner with architecture, governance, BI, and operations teams while mentoring data engineers and reviewing technical designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• 2+ years of experience developing with Databricks and hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms and medallion architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, conceptual/logical/physical data modeling, dimensional modeling, and domain-oriented models.
• Experience designing data structures for BI tools, including Power BI, and advanced analytics.
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance across multiple systems of record, including canonical models, data contracts, and standard integration patterns.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog, lineage, and governance tooling.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven analytics, GenAI data requirements, data mesh, and product-based data architectures.
• Experience in distributed teams or large-scale enterprise modernization and legacy platform migrations.
