Audio & Mix Engineer, Here’s The Scoop Podcast (Contract)

Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring at least four days onsite per week; all five days may be onsite as needed.

Salary: $70,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Engineer in-studio and remote podcast recording sessions.
• Prepare studios, microphones, routing, monitoring, and talkback systems.
• Record and manage multitrack audio assets.
• Edit, clean, and mix podcast episodes in Pro Tools.
• Collaborate with producers, editors, and talent to meet editorial and delivery deadlines.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support video podcast synchronization, loudness, quality control, and delivery standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional podcast experience.
• Expert knowledge of Pro Tools and experience with Riverside, Descript, and remote recording workflows.
• Strong understanding of signal flow, microphone techniques, and audio troubleshooting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and guide guests through technical setup.
• Ability to work onsite at NBC’s 30 Rock location at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting video podcast productions.
• Familiarity with Premiere Pro, PTZ camera workflows, and studio production systems.
• Strong interest in audio gear and technology, with an ear for music editing, pacing, and transitions.
