Real Estate Counsel, Transactions & Development

Location: New York, NY; on-site

Salary: $170,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for acquisitions, leasing, property management, financing, and related real estate transactions.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate legal due diligence for new investments.
• Partner with Real Estate and Finance teams to align deal terms with business needs and manage legal and operational risks.
• Structure transactions to comply with local land-use and zoning requirements and coordinate licensing and regulatory approvals.
• Advise property-facing teams on agreement terms, lease interpretation, risk, and practical resolution of legal issues.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience primarily as transactional real estate counsel.
• Admission in good standing to practice law.
• Strong knowledge of real estate finance and operations.
• Superior contract drafting, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex agreements under tight deadlines and high pressure.
