Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance

Location: Onsite at 3209 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, GA 30906-4201, United States

Salary: $26.00–$51.00 per hour, plus possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, repairs, and replacements for facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
• Operate, inspect, and maneuver forklifts, material-handling equipment, industrial machines, vehicles, and other heavy machinery.
• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, contractors, parts orders, purchase records, warranty claims, and maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate equipment and vehicle transportation, perform vehicle safety checks, and submit maintenance invoices.
• Identify hazards, equipment malfunctions, deficiencies, and repair needs; take corrective action or escalate issues.
• Ensure work and contractor activities comply with Walmart standards, safety procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical certification plus 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material-handling equipment, or a related area, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years.
• No more than two moving violations and no preventable commercial-vehicle accidents within the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations within the last three years.
• Ability to follow equipment certification, operational safety, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical trade program.
• Trade license applicable to the city or state of employment.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
