Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Java)

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland; hybrid work model balancing office and remote work.

What you will do

• Implement, test, deliver, and streamline the data platform while accelerating data onboarding.
• Design and deliver resilient, scalable distributed services processing billions of events.
• Collaborate with Product Management, architects, and Engineering stakeholders on scalable solutions and the technology roadmap.
• Advocate for improvements to product security, quality, performance, and team engineering practices.
• Ship complex features and improvements and handle L3 support requests.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and promote efficient iterative delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Java developer in SaaS projects.
• Strong experience with microservices frameworks; Micronaut or Spring experience is beneficial.
• Expertise with messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud provider, plus familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes is beneficial.
• Professional-level English, spoken and written, is required.

• Knowledge of streaming services and distributed caching.
• Experience with Micronaut or Spring frameworks.
