Safety AV Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Fully based in Montreal, Canada; hybrid work. Candidates currently located in Europe must be open to relocating to Canada.

What you will do

• Conduct functional safety analyses, including FMEA, STPA, and SOTIF, for advanced vehicle systems.
• Support system design verification and validation to ensure safety compliance.
• Integrate safety requirements with software, electrical, and vehicle subsystem teams.
• Develop and maintain safety requirements, hazard analyses, and verification evidence.
• Identify and mitigate potential failure modes in advanced vehicle components.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with functional safety in automotive systems, including ISO 26262 and ISO 21448.
• Familiarity with ADAS or advanced vehicle subsystems.
• Practical knowledge of FMEA, STPA, or SOTIF methods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens only.
