Senior Manager, Automation Engineering (AI)

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, United States — Change Building AR Bentonville Home Office

Salary: $110,000–$220,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary design assurance for greenfield and retrofit automation projects.
• Establish engineering standards covering controls interfaces, safety, compliance, maintenance access, infrastructure, and modular design.
• Translate operational requirements and field learnings into reusable design requirements, modules, review criteria, and controlled design-package updates.
• Evaluate design changes for technical feasibility, compatibility, cost, schedule, safety, maintainability, and operational impact.
• Partner with Product, Design, Construction, Implementation, Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Technology, Procurement, and automation suppliers.
• Lead UL testing and burn-testing initiatives, and apply data analysis, engineering economics, and AI-assisted workflows to improve technical decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant engineering or supply-chain experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with automation-system design, integration, technical review, or troubleshooting in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain environments.
• Knowledge of automation equipment interfaces, controls, building infrastructure, safety systems, associate workflows, and maintenance requirements.
• Working knowledge of CAD, automation controls, machine safety, ergonomics, maintainability, testing, and system integration.
• Strong analytical, financial-evaluation, communication, leadership, and cross-functional influencing skills, with an AI-forward engineering mindset.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering.
