Engineering Manager (Java)

Location: Based in the Paris or Bordeaux office with one day of remote work per week

What you will do

• Own user stories and contribute to design, development, testing, code reviews, and production deployments.
• Build roadmaps with R&D and coordinate priorities with technical, product, and design stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor 4–5 developers across distributed locations through onboarding, one-on-ones, and performance reviews.
• Resolve technical blockers, make architecture and delivery decisions, and ensure commitments are met.
• Establish best practices in clean code, testing, pair programming, and talent development.
• Support the adoption of AI in products and internal engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Java development experience with recent versions.
• At least 2 years in a team lead or comparable management role mentoring developers.
• Experience balancing hands-on technical contribution with people management.
• Experience delivering complex projects in a microservices environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience with Java architecture, Spring Framework, SQL, cloud platforms, clean code, and engineering best practices.
