Director of Manufacturing (Manufacturing)

Location: Houston, Texas, at the TAS-Cullen HQ and Houston manufacturing facilities. The role is primarily based in manufacturing shops, with 70%–85% desk work and 15%–30% observing and directing shop-floor operations.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing operations, production schedules, equipment, and personnel across multiple Houston facilities.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, cost reduction, productivity, quality, and throughput initiatives.
• Plan capital equipment acquisition, facility layouts, capacity, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Establish KPIs, production targets, quality objectives, and operational reporting for data-driven decisions.
• Oversee workforce planning, training, employee development, succession planning, and leadership development.
• Promote environmental, health and safety, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial production environments.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing manufacturing operations and production teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, or a related field; military leadership or technical experience may substitute.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, improve operations, manage budgets and schedules, and achieve business objectives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of experience in a fabrication shop.
• Master’s degree in engineering, business, manufacturing, or a related field.
